The new generation of Ryzens turned out to be a hit, but the manufacturer's plans may be two more, weaker models. Finally we will see a concrete answer to the Core i5-9400F?
Recently, we had the opportunity to test the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor, i.e. the weakest representative of the new generation Zen 2. However, we know that the manufacturer has plans for another, weaker units – in addition to the announced Ryzen 5 3500 model, the Ryzen 5 3500X may also appear on the market.
AMD has not confirmed the plans to release more models, but there are a lot of rumors appearing on the network. However, we suggest that you treat this information with limited confidence.
If you believe the leaks, the Ryzen 5 3500 and 3500X models will offer 6 cores / 6 threads (they will not offer support for SMT technology, as in the case of the 3600 and 3600X). Interestingly, in both cases the timing is to be the same – base 3.6 GHz and up to 4.1 GHz in Boost mode.

So what will the differences be between the models? Foreign sources suggest a different L3 cache capacity – 16 MB for 3500 and 32 MB for 3500X. At the moment it is difficult for us to confirm these reports (and it must be admitted that at first glance they look quite surprising).
It's no secret that the Ryzen 5 3500 and 3500X models would rank between the current Ryzen 5 3400G and Ryzen 5 3600 units – so you can suspect that they will attack the 700-800 PLN segment, where the successful Core i5-9400F model is available.

According to unofficial slides, the Ryzen 5 3500X in a configuration with a GeForce GTX 1660 graphics card would be comparable in performance to the competition model. A big advantage, however, would be the larger capacity of the L3 cache and thus faster frame rendering time.
When will the Ryzen 5 3500 and 3500X processors debut? This is not known, but we would rather not expect them too early (foreign sources indicate November).
