The Taiwanese TSAIK overclocker has once again obtained a great overclocking result. This time it fell on the top model of the 3rd generation Ryzen – managed to exceed 6 GHz here.
AMD Ryzen 9 3950X offers great performance even at standard settings. However, the processor can be additionally turned up … also in an extreme way. What potential can we count on?
Ryzen 9 3950X is a 16-core / 32 thread model that works at 3.5 GHz (in Boost mode it can accelerate to a maximum of 4.7 GHz). In home conditions, using AiO 280 mm water cooling, we were able to get 4.3 GHz on all cores.

An even better result can be "squeezed" using unconventional cooling methods. This was proven by a Taiwanese overclocker with the nickname TSAIK, which managed to raise the frequency to over 6.0 GHz (exactly 6041 MHz). Unfortunately, only with one core.
Considering only the timing, so what matters most in this industry, the result is quite impressive. It's worth noting that we're talking not only about the 3950X overclock record, but also the timing record for all AMD Ryzen processors. However, it did not happen without a strong increase in the supply voltage and cooling the system with liquid nitrogen. The record was obtained on the MSI MEG X570 Godlike motherboard.
The overclocker result was not stable in any way. To run the Cinebench R15 test it was necessary to lower the clocks to 5575 MHz – with such settings it was possible to achieve 5683 points, so by about 42% more than with standard settings. Similar performance can boast of the top Intel model – 28-core Xeon W-3175X.
