The Polish Payment Standard has boasted of the latest BLIK results. Poles are more and more eager to use this solution and more and more often have the opportunity to use it.
In three quarters BLIK achieved a better result than in four years – the record is chasing a record
After three quarters of 2019, BLIK has already recorded over 146 million transactions. This is more than if we sum up the results from the first four years of the standard's existence, and its history began in 2015. Only in the last three months have users used this system more than 56.5 million times.
Currently, BLIK allows for four types of transactions and all of them recorded records in the third quarter of 2019.
BLIK already supports every third payment on the Internet – it's more popular than cards
We use BLIK most often when shopping in online stores – that's 70% all transactions. Compared to the same period of the previous year, online payments were 126 percent. more – from 17.5 million, their number increased to 39.5 million.
As the Polish Payment Standard says: share in payments in the network for BLIK is already 35 percent and this is the method most frequently chosen by Polish buyers.
BLIK is also used to withdraw money from ATMs without having to carry a payment card with you. Already 95 percent these machines allow you to use this form, which is why it is not surprising to increase from 4.1 million to 6.8 million (i.e. by 66 percent).
We pay more and more often with BLIK in stationary stores and we will do contactless soon
Enormous because BLIK recorded a 338% increase in payment terminals in stationary stores – from 1.4 to as many as 6 million transactions. This is due to the fact that more than two-thirds of terminals already support this Polish standard of payment. Next year will probably be another record, especially that BLIK will allow contactless payments (and not only in Poland).
Finally, by 212 percent the number of direct transfers between phone numbers also increased: from 1.4 to 4.3 million Currently, customers of eight banks can use this option, and before the end of this year the ninth will join. What's more, the president of the Polish Payment Standard, Dariusz Mazurkiewicz, announces that work is underway on solutions that will allow users to immediately give away money.
Do you use BLIK? And if so, which form do you usually use?
