All this indicates that AMD is not going to stay on 24- and 32-core models. Next year we are looking forward to the 64-core unit.
We are after the premiere of the new AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors – the manufacturer presented the Ryzen Threadripper 3960X and 3970X models, but it probably won't end there. MSI confirmed earlier rumors about an even more efficient model.
MSI confirms Ryzen Threadripper 3990X 64-core processor?
On the occasion of the launch of the new platform, the manufacturer has prepared material with the presentation of its new TRX40 motherboards. Of course, it wasn't without demonstrating the potential of the finished computer (with the top MSI Creator TRX40 disc) – the presenters started rendering one of their films here.
It would not be surprising if it wasn't for the task manager opened – more perceptive fans noticed 128 windows illustrating the load of threads. The problem, however, is that the available models offer "only" 24 cores / 48 threads and 32 cores / 64 threads.
It can therefore be suspected that the 64-core / 128-thread Ryzen Threadripper 3990X model, which we wrote about some time ago, was used here. This is not confirmed information, but such a scenario seems to be the most likely (all the more so as the material disappeared from the MSI channel).
Ryzen Threadripper 3990X will be the most efficient processor for computers
The exact specification of the unit is not yet known, but one can be sure – the Ryzen Threadripper 3990X will be the most efficient processor for desktops. The system should interest the most demanding and wealthy customers who are planning to build a powerful workstation. We will probably have to wait until next year for its premiere.
