MSI shows that you can build a functional motherboard without unnecessary frills. The new models are particularly suitable for the construction of modern workstations.

The premiere of AMD TRX40 motherboards for AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3000 processors is getting closer and closer. Recently we wrote about the top model Gigabyte TRX40 Aorus Xtreme. Now we have something for less demanding customers who do not need "indulgence tinsel".

MSI is preparing two similar models – TRX40 PRO 10G and TRX40 PRO WIFI. Both are based on the same laminate design, so they offer almost identical functionality.


The manufacturer has provided the sTRX4 socket and eight DDR4 memory banks. The solid power section with a large, ribbed heatsink and two 8-pin power connectors are noteworthy.

Expansion cards have five PCI-Express 4.0 connectors: four reinforced x16 and one standard x1. As for the slots for the drives, there are eight SATA 6 Gb / s ports and two M.2 4.0 x4 (with heat sinks).


The difference is in connectivity – the TRX40 PRO 10G model is equipped with two Intel LAN systems and an additional Aquantia 10G LAN network card, while the TRX40 PRO WIFI with two Intel LAN systems and wireless Intel Wi-Fi 6.
